British Driving Society (BDS) - Full Member

The British Driving Society was formed in 1957 and is the governing body for Carriage Driving.  The aim of the Society is to encourage Carriage Driving and to promote the safety and welfare of the Harness Horse. The BDS has branches in Wales and Scotland and is supported by a network of Area and Assistant Area Commissioners throughout the country holding Training Days, Rallies, Drives and Social Events.  We have a Training and Education Committee with BDS Approved Instructors, and assessors through the country with Training Syllabuses for all levels of carriage driving offering support and encouragement to safely enjoy carriage driving whatever you aspire to.  The BDS hold 3 shows per year which have Horse of the Year Qualifiers and a variety of classes from Novice, Young Driver, Exercise Private Drive and Trade Classes.  Membership includes third party pubic liability insurance from 13p per day, Year Book and three magazines.
