Association of Show & Agricultural Organisations (ASAO)

The ASAO sets out to promote agriculture, horticulture and the countryside through shows and other events; to encourage and share best


practice between agricultural societies and related organisations and to encourage and support education across the full spectrum of agriculture, horticulture and the countryside through shows, conferences, projects and initiatives.

British Equestrian Federation (BEF)

The British Equestrian Federation is the recognised governing body of horse sports in the UK. Through its eighteen

Members (fifteen Full Members and three Associate Members) the BEF represents and works to promote the interests of the 4.2 million riders and carriage drivers in Britain.

Equestrian Employers Association (EEA)

The Equestrian Employers Association (EEA) the professional organisation for all employers in the equestrian industry.

Horse of the Year Show

Competing at Horse of the Year Show, “The World’s Most Famous Horse Show”, is widely regarded as the pinnacle of achievement in the equestrian world. It is a goal to which all owners and riders aspire. During Horse of the Year Show 


 (HOYS), 27 Championship classes cover the most popular of British breeds and types, with the respective Champions going forward to contest for the Show’s most prestigious titles, the Supreme Horse of the Year and Supreme Pony of the Year.

British Grooms Association (BGA)

The BGA is the national representative body for all grooms working in the UK or British grooms abroad.

It exists to support members throughout


their career as a groom, providing support, advice and education to all working in the industry and to speak up on the issues that really matter.

British Horse Society (BHS)

The British Horse Society provides welfare services to horses and advice for owners. It campaigns and lobbies for key equestrian issues on behalf of all Horses and Riders and offers the world's leading equestrian

 qualifications and approvals system.

Hickstead is the home of British showjumping. Having celebrated our Golden Anniversary in 2010, we are very much looking forward to another 50 


years at the pinnacle of world equestrian sport. Whilst our two flagship summer meetings the Hickstead Derby Meeting and the Longines Royal International Horse Show remain two highlights of the international equestrian calendar, Hickstead has become renowned for so much more.

The Showing  Journal

The first edition of The Showing Journal was published in June 2013. It is a monthly magazine, dedicated to all

who love showing and is full of up-to-date articles, features, show reports and hundreds of photos from around the shows. It is taking the showing scene by storm with all of the top producers subscribing and supporting the magazine. 

The editor, Jeanetta La-Four, has been a panel judge for several of the main societies, including the British Show Horse Association and Sport Horse Breeding, for over twenty years. She has officiated at almost every county show in the UK, including the Horse of the Year Show. She has also travelled to judge at many shows in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, Jersey and the Channel Islands as well as further afield to Australia.
