The Showing Council's
Judges & Officials Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme  

This Accident Policy offers essential coverage* for Judges and Officials while they are officiating at affiliated events organised by the participating Member Bodies. This policy is designed to ensure peace of mind, allowing officials to focus on their responsibilities, without the worry of unforeseen incidents. Safety is our priority, and we are committed to providing the necessary support in the event of an accident. 

The following Member Bodies are participating in this Group Personal Accident Scheme:

  • British Driving Society

  • British Miniature Horse Society

  • British Palomino Society

  • Lusitano Breed Society of Great Britain​

  • Northern Counties Ponies Association

  • Shire Horse Society

  • Side Saddle Association

  • Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain

  • Veteran Horse Society

If you are officiating for one of the above Member Bodies, this policy applies to you.​

Judges will be covered when judging at a show affiliated to the Member Body, and both Judges & Officials will be covered when officiating at Member Bodies own events, i.e. Show, Judges' Assessment Day, Judges' Conference etc.

We advise that Officials check they are covered under this policy, when accepting an appointment.

Things to consider when excepting an appointment:

​

  • Is the Show affiliated?

  • If so, to which organisations?

  • Are all the classes you have been asked to officiate affiliated?

​​

If in doubt, check with the Show Secretary by email, so you have something in writing.

​

Please note you are not covered if:

​

  • The Show is not affiliated

  • The Class/Classes are not affiliated ​
