National Pony Society (NPS) - (Full Member)

The National Pony Society is a membership organisation, formed in 1893, to encourage the breeding, registration and improvement of riding ponies and mountain & moorland ponies and to foster the welfare of ponies in general.   It is an officially appointed liaison organisation between the Government and all those concerned with ponies.

The NPS organises the maintenance of the British Riding Pony stud book, a Spring Festival and Summer Championships with qualifiers throughout the country, an affiliation scheme for riding ponies and mountain and moorland breeds and a list of qualified Judges.   The NPS is also approved by DEFRA to issue equine passports.
