Rescue Equine Showing Society (RESS)

(Full Member)

The Rescue Equine Showing Society (RESS) was formed to promote and provide a platform to showcase rescue equines to demonstrate that although they may have come from the worst of situations they can go on to lead happy, healthy and active lives.  RESS also supports the equine charities to encourage people to adopt a rescue – for each horse or pony rehomed, this will allow another whose welfare is compromised, to be brought into care.  We also want to celebrate the work of the rescuers and re-homers, who do so much to rehabilitate those that have sadly been neglected and abused.

The mark system used in the classes reflects the importance of celebrating these rescues.  A mark is given for Rescue History and Transformation – each competitor provides a brief written history and both ‘before’ and ‘after’ photographs for marking in the ring (40%), we want to promote positive welfare so there is also a mark for Body Condition (20%) and then a mark for ‘Performance’ (40%).
