The Showing Council Meeting - 25th March 2026

A full Agenda was covered by Council members at the meeting held on Wednesday 25 March online including various organisational matters including financial updates, membership fees for 2026/7 and governance changes. Some key points were:
The Showing Council Executive Director nominations process was explained. There are three vacancies from June 2026 and nominations are invited to be made up to 24 April from Member Body representatives, through their own Board
/Councils. Nominations must be supported by two referees from within the Showing Council membership and include their CV and a covering letter. Guidelines for the role of Directors; the Showing Council Governance Policy, incl. Terms of Reference and Nomination forms will be sent out during the week beginning 30 March. Initial online meetings will be held with Nominees. The necessity for a voting process will be dependant on the number that are put forward to Council. Successful candidates will be notified between 06 and 11 June.
The Showing Council's Judges & Officials Personal Accident Group Insurance Policy is due to renew mid-April. The first year has run very successfully. A PowerPoint presentation has been produced which shows the level of benefits for each age group of Judges & Officials, so if any participating Member Body would like to share this with their Judges & Officials please let us know and we will send you a copy - info@theshowingcouncil.co.uk. If any other Member Bodies would like to join the Group Policy they can do so at any time through the year.
A new equestrian wide Equine Fatality Reporting Form is being introduced. This will be TSC branded and worded to best fit the needs of Showing. All Member Bodies will be advised to include this at their shows and events.
All Member Bodies were invited to include Concussion protocols in their documentation and next Rule Book reviews. Information is available from info@theshowingcouncil.co.uk
The Showing Council's AGM and next Council meeting will be held in person on 11th June 2026 at Equestrian House, Stoneleigh.
